Stepping Out

Hello,

Who Am I?

Why Am I here on this planet?

Where Am I going?

Childhood

I know we all dreamed a lot as kids. I can say I had dreams of being a lawyer, doctor, teacher and what ever else I could think of. As kids, we all have such BIG dreams and those BIG dreams sort of fade away as we get older.  This is the cutest YouTube video.  Kids dream BIG!

The only answer I have regarding dream fading is as we get older we get involved in LIFE. We feel like we should accept what comes our way and in my opinion, that’s where the saying “it is what it is” comes into existence for us. There are those people that use that saying because they are looking at where they come from. We shouldn’t judge our destiny by our birthplace. We are special and God makes no mistakes.  God desires for us all to be successful.  We are born with a gift just as a fish will never stop swimming, a  dog will bark and birds will fly.

Adulthood

As adults, we start to dream again whether it’s after college, starting a new career path, get married and the list could go on.

Once kids come into the picture, do you notice we start dreaming for our kids. We start calling out all sort of career paths they could take. As I sit and write this blog, I begin to laugh because the cycle starts all over again.  Please, don’t think that I’m saying it’s wrong to dream for our kids. I have 3 children and I would always ask them the questions:

  1. What do you want to be when you grow up?
  2. What kind of job do you want to have?
  3. How much money do you want to make?
  4. Do you want to be famous?

Now that they’re older, a different set of questions are thrown their way.

  1. Have you thought about a 5 year plan?
  2. Have you filled out an application for an internship?
  3. Have you written down some goals?

That’s the real deal. Goals are important. Having them written down and looking at them daily is a must. We must work towards something.

Current Status

I’m almost 48 years old and I had the mind set that I am too old.  I say had because I am now angry regarding the status of my life.  I realize I am not getting to many more do overs.  I must make a change now.  As a little girl, I also wanted to be a writer but that doubt set it of being judged by many, not wanting to fail, not being successful, am I worthy and I could keep going.  If I can be encouraging and uplifting with my blog posts to at least one person, I have been significant and done the work that wastes out to be done.

It’s only when you become angry that you will want to make a change.  I’m putting it on the table that tolerating is over!  I want to encourage you to get on the train with me to stop tolerating life or whatever situation you may be in. Tolerating is accepting and not wanting to change. No more of that. The train is at your location and I am looking forward to this new journey with you and traveling together to our next destination to release our marvelous gifts. We are all born with gifts and not sharing them is selfish.  Let’s not worry about being judged. God gave us gifts to share and to pay it forward.  Finding the courage to step out of the comfort zone department can be terrifying but I know that’s the first step of being FREE.

Lets do the following together:

1. Figure out who we are and not be defined by our J.O.B titles.  I found a great article on this topic.

2.  Knowing our gifts we are successful and sharing our gifts with others we are significant.

3.  We are going straight to the top, sharing our gifts, being extraordinary and pulling others up with us.  I know a testimony will be there, I’m sure.

I have taken the first step towards my stepping out journey with writing this blog post.  I hope you enjoyed and found just a small something you could benefit from.

  1. I really enjoyed reading your post. I know sometimes I feel the same way that I am getting too old, but you are right I can never stop dreaming. I am on this journey with you because there are still a lot of goals and dreams I want to accomplish. Thank you so much for the encouragement I needed today. Keep writing!!
